5 tips to break out of your plateau:
Change it up: try intervals, a new cardio activity, a new music playlist, suspension trainers, or a new class in person or on-line
Hydrate: (of course you know this… but are you doing it?). At least 64 oz of water a day, and more when you add in workouts. If you're exercising in this heat dome 🥵, even more water, and also consider a hydration drink.
Master your mind: negative self talk hits us all and can snowball into putting off the little things you can do TODAY. Telling yourself “This week (month, summer) has been terrible, I’m failing at my goals” can turn into “I’ll wait to try again next week, month, fall, after this trip” and get you further from your health goals. Instead tell yourself something positive: “this is a journey, not a sprint”, “today matters”, “there are steps I can take today.”
Take an honest look at pitfalls that hold you back, are you willing to make changes? Maybe it’s late night junk food snacking, or alcohol consumption or emotional eating that’s holding you back.
