Brainspotting
Brainspotting is an intervention used in parent and family coaching to help clients build life skills, including the ability to confidently move toward personal goals. This client-based approach is effective with parents, teens, and children of all ages. By helping identify and work through internal barriers and increasing access to inner resources that already exist within a person, Brainspotting helps people feel less "stuck" and more equipped to move forward toward desired goals. It also can help reduce stress, increase ability to deal with change, and boost motivation, allowing clients to experience a newfound sense of confidence and hope!
It is a focused treatment method to help the brain process and heal. We know that the brain holds on to experiences, even experiences that happen before we have words to put to them. Traumas and strong emotions connected to painful experiences can be stored in the brain and affect the person in a variety of ways. Brainspotting can be used to process and heal childhood traumas, PTSD, relational traumas, stress, fears (such as public speaking or getting vaccinations), and strong emotions connected to specific events. It can also be used to release performance blocks and improve athletic or professional performance as well as unlock creativity.
I've seen Brainspotting provide healing in myself and for people I love and THAT's why I am so excited to offer this to others.
Brainspotting can be used along with parent coaching or other resources such as talk therapy, or it can be done on its own.
