Winter break is almost here! If you have school-aged kids, you’ll most likely have about a week after Christmas to keep your kids busy and occupied. Whether you have the whole day and want to stay cozy indoors or are free after work and want to brave the crisp winter air, here are some fun, family-friendly activities that focus on connection and making winter break memorable.
Cozy Indoor Activities
  • Family Movie & PJs Day
Snuggle up in your favorite pajamas and grab the new movie you got for Christmas or a family-favorite that never gets old. Don’t forget the popcorn and blankets for extra coziness!
  • Homemade Pizza Night
Transform your kitchen into a pizzeria! Let everyone design their own pizza with their favorite toppings. It’s a delicious way to bond and get creative together.
  • Puzzle or LEGO Station
Create a designated area for an ongoing project, whether it’s completing a challenging puzzle or building an epic LEGO masterpiece. It’s a relaxing way to connect and work as a team.

Outdoor Winter Adventures
  • Ice Skating Fun
Bundle up and head to a local ice rink or frozen pond. Whether you’re a pro or just learning, skating is a great way to stay active and laugh together.
  • Build the Ultimate Snowman
Get outside and craft a snowman or your most creative snow sculptures. Don’t forget to add accessories for extra flair—carrot noses and all!
  • Sledding or Tubing Excursion
Find a local hill (or two!) and enjoy the thrill of speeding down on a sled or tube. Head home to a DIY Hot Cocoa Bar to warm up afterwards. (Don’t forget all the fixings—whipped cream, sprinkles, marshmallows, and even a dash of cinnamon or peppermint—to make it extra special.)

These are just a few suggestions to get you started; I’m positive that if you ask your kids at dinner tonight they’ll probably have quite a few to add. No matter how you end up spending winter break, the most important thing is connecting with each other!
